Hari ini menjadi hari yang cukup membingungkan buat aku deskripsikan. Soalnya gak tau apakah baik atau tidak, tapi menurutku hari yang cukup baik . Karena pagi ini ketika cek email dapat email yang lumayan menggembirakan. Dapat kiriman recehan ke paypal … hehehehehe.

Beberapa hari yang lalu ada kerjaan untuk mengkoneksikan network sebuah perusahaan antara kantor dan gudang. Dan untuk itu digunakan teknologi wireless, serta dalam hal ini menggunakan radio UBiQUiTi Power Station2 dengan frekwensi di kisaran 2,4. Kenapa aku memakai kata kisaran 2,4 karena radio ini sendiri bisa digunakan sampai dengan frekwensi 2,3. Radio wireless ini sendiri bagiku tergolong cukup unik. Karena dalam menu setting-an radio, menu yang ada lebih banyak pilihan dibandingkan dengan radio wireless outdoor yang biasa aku gunakan (Motorola Canopy). Menu setting Wireless seperti menu settingan wireless Indoor jenis D-Link, LinkSys, ASUS dan lainnya.

Menurut keterangan2 dari bbrapa situs untuk upgrade wireless router Linksys tipe WRT54GL (v1.0 & v1.1) ke v24 std (standar) terlebih dahulu harus diupgrade ke v24 mini. Adapun tahapannya adalah :

1.Siapkan Linksys WRT54GL v1.0 atau v1.1 serta Firmware DD-WRT versi 24 edisi mini versi 24 edisi standar yang dapat di download dari situs www.dd-wrt.com.

Jitter is technically defined as a variation of a periodic signal or pulse from its ideal position in time. It is most commonly encountered in telecommunications (also called packet delay variation – PDV - the variation in the time of arrival of packets in a high-speed data transmission) and in electronic systems (the deviation in the amplitude, phase, timing or width of high-frequency digital signals).

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Data transmission is done in packets containing a payload (actual data) and a header (identifier) which indicates, among others, its correct position so that the receiving computer would know where to put it when re-assembling the data. Due to network congestion, timing drift or route changes, some of the transmitted packets may arrive late or are lost in transit.

What is Interference?

Setelah bbrapa lama Wifi di Acer Aspire 4315 belum berjalan di Ubuntu, akhirnya liat ada pencerahan. dan coba install mengikuti pencerahan, ternyata ada sedikit error. setelah cek sana, cek sini ternyata error terjadi karena ndiswrapper belum terinstall. Dan ketika di install dari sypnatic gak bisa, akhirnya install manual. eh ternyata error juga karena super user alias root belum aktif :D. maka aktifkan root dan coba install. langkah-langkah untuk install driver atheros :

pastikan dahulu bahwa ndiswrapper terinstall di ubuntu. Kalo di Hardy Heron (yg gw pake)  spertinya ndiswrapper tidak terinstall (hal ini terjadi di 2 notebook yang diinstall Hardy Heron).

WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) suatu metoda pengamanan jaringan nirkabel, Enkripsi WEP menggunakan kunci yang dimasukkan (oleh administrator) ke access point ataupun ke client.

Saya pernah membaca bahwa dengan diaktifkannya security WEP maka kecepatan koneksi menjadi berkurang, dikatakan penurunan throughput ketika menggunakan WEP bisa sebanyak 50 persen. Sehingga banyak orang yang memilih untuk tidak menggunakan security WEP (kalo gw terkadang juga gitu, kalo menggunakan AP yang kemampuan jangkauannya rendah ataupun costumer yang dipasang AP tersebut gak suka ribet2 set ini itu -kalo gini gw paling ngeset IP menjadi statik dan merubah IP dengan yg sedikit aneh dari defaultnya).
